This is the question my son has been asked repeatedly for the past 3 days. Malique and Keelan had baseball practice on Monday. Everything was going great Malique was catching pop flies Keelan was hitting the ball great and then it happened...10 minutes before practice ended! He was running to tag out his best friend on 2nd base and some how they got tangled up and bam broken leg. I thought he got his in his private parts and kept telling him to get up. My poor baby was trying so hard to suck it up and not cry but it hurt bad. His leg was not swollen or anything it just had a little knot on it. We kept trying to get him to get up and walk on it thinking it was probably just sore and maybe he got hit in the shin with Tay's cleat. When they came in and said is was broken. We were so sad for him. He is in a cast toe to hip for up to 6 weeks. No more baseball until fall ball. Derrick just wanted to cry. I feel the same way. I can't imagine how much it must suck to not be able to walk or really move around. Right now he is being a ham though :) The hospital gave him crutches but they are impossible for him to use. We searched all day Tuesday for a wheelchair and I was getting to discouraged because they are too expensive to rent or are all too big. The orthopaedic said they could wrote him a prescription for one but not until they saw him which isn't until the 25th. Finally I called back to the ER and talked to someone and they had him a wheelchair delivered to the house the next morning and a note to excuse him from school for the rest of the year. (A whole 7 days) My poor baby :( i know when this cast is off I'm gonna take him to the park and just let him run until he can't run anymore.
